1. Tell your family and friends
Call or text your friends and family and let them know of your fabulous news! They will be happy you let them know before you shout your news across Facebook and Twitter.
2. Set your budget

3. Dream about your wedding
Once you have established your budget, it’s time to start dreaming about your big day! So take a moment and sit down with your partner to decide what is mission critical and what you can do without. Check Pinterest and our galleries to get your inspiration in the fast lane.
4. Create your guest list
Now you have a wedding vision in mind and your budget is set – it’s time to talk about the people you would like to invite. You’ll need your final guest list before meeting with your wedding vendors because they’ll match their services with your budget and guest count.
5. Choose your venue & set a date
Wedding vision? Check. Budget finalized? Check. Guest list? Check. The next step is to find and book your venue. If you are working with us, you know our planners know all the ins and outs of almost all the wedding venues in northern California. Come ready with a camera and questions – and take a lot of photos at each venue you visit.
6. Take your engagement photos
If you are working with us, ask your planner for photographer referrals. You’ll want to take your engagement photos as early as possible so you can use them in your save the date cards.
7. Build your trusted vendor team
In the greater Napa, Sonoma, and San Francisco areas, the top wedding vendors can be booked a year or two out. But don’t worry! We have long-established relationships with the best wedding vendors and can often save a date for your even if it means shuffling their schedules a bit.
8. Say hella yes to the perfect dress
Sure, you might be able to find a dress you love right off the rack, but most brides have to wait 6-9 months for the custom dress of their dreams to be shipped to them. So get going early on this!
9. Keep yourself organized
There are boatloads of wedding planning tools out there, but if you are working with us, we’ll give you access to our propriety online wedding planning system. If you are going it on your own, try list sharing apps like Wanderlust and Evernote. Keep up with your checklists and sharing them with the proper vendors may sound intimidating, so put your trust in proven sharing systems like Google Docs and DropBox.
